Brewed by Scott Barsotti
In the world of Brewed, the task is stirring a pot…all day, every day. The six sisters don’t share the task as they once did. With Nannette busy racing stock cars and Roxette off doing her own thing, the others are left to shoulder the burden.
But Paulette is fed up; Collette is clueless; and Babette, crippled in more ways than one, is volatile.
Juliette does her best to maintain order and civility…for now. But why must they do this?
When one of the sisters calls everyone together, old venom bubbles up and grievance flares, setting into motion an impossible moral struggle.

Four Stars - Critics' Pick! - Time Out Chicago
"Brewed creates a thoroughly twisted fantasy world, but the conflict is all in the relationships, grounding this dark an gritty take on gender roles, fairy tales, and family drama." – Aeneas Sagar
Recommended! - NewCity Chicago
"Brewed is a lively production full of everything from ultra violence to the supernatural and even some dark family issues." – John Accrocco
Highly Recommended! - Windy City Times
"The cast, recruited from the two producing companies under Anna C. Bahow's direction, likewise generates a sororal dynamic of sufficient intensity to keep our curiosity piqued until the light goes on." – Mary Shen Barnridge
Recommended! - Splash Magazine
"What I like about Brewed is that it's so damn literal. Here, a pot must be stirred forever and each sister has her own spoon. My brother and I sometimes fight, but in the world of Brewed, the sisters look like they are auditioning for Fight Club...recommended for its very dark satire and wickedly awesome fight scenes." – Noel Schecter
Three Stars! - Chicago Theater Beat
"With strong performances and an intricately detailed stage setting, it is easy to accept the rather fantastical world that the play inhabits...it looks like a witches' cave, complete with a cauldron and shelves full of jars with different colored liquids...Kudos to set designer Dustin Pettegrew and props designer Casey Bentley." – Anuja Vaidya
Recommended! - Chicago Critic
"[A]n unaffected and emotionally honest play about family disharmonies...even if we admit we've seen this story before, we can still safely say that we've never seen it quite like this." – Anthony J. Mangini
